Technology Transfer through Marketing Initiatives

1) Transfer of technology on ‘Meat processing’ to Mellow Foods, Hyderabad

To benefit the entrepreneurs and to encourage them to undertake meat processing business technology on ‘Meat processing’ was transferred to an entrepreneur of ‘Mellow foods’. Entrepreneur underwent training and will be establishing his own processing unit at Hyderabad. Till establishment he is undertaking ‘Test marketing’ by using the facilities of the Pilot plant of the Center. Test marketing facility was launched on 6th September 2010 in presence of Dr. K. M. L. Pathak, Deputy Director General (Animal Sciences).

2) Participatory training program on meat processing

Six day participatory training program was organized from 29th July to 4th August 2010 under National Agricultural Innovation Project, ‘Value chain for clean meat production from sheep and Emeritus Scientist project on, ‘Development and Evaluation of Technologies for ‘Value Added Meat Products for Entrepreneurial Adoption’. Six participants participated in the program. All the ingredients involved in processing to meat products were brought by the participants themselves. In the six day total of 33 Kg meat product was produced. Participants were also given the task of marketing the products in different parts of the city. Participants were highly satisfied with the training. They got the hands on training on processing apart from getting an exposure on the marketing and demand of the products.
